In 1998 Vail Christian High School began as a ministry of Gracious Savior Lutheran
Church but was named Vail Christian High School to reflect its goal of serving the
entire community. Underlying the school in all its facets is the desire to develop
and nurture the Christian faith of its students. Christian values are taught and
shared in such a way that students see relevancy to their own lives.
We view all knowledge and learning as potential for God’s power and grace. Our curriculum
is determined by the demands of the colleges and universities of our nation. We
focus on the needs and aptitudes of each of our students, and they are challenged
on a daily basis to develop their God-given talents. They are given opportunities
to strengthen their skills and attitudes in order to make thoughtful Chris-tian
decisions and to take positive Christian actions as they live out varying roles
in society as the children of God.
The courses in religion serve as the foundation for the student’s deep-ening quest
for a more personal and mature relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Bible
is used as a source of inspiration and guidance at all times. By means of course
work in Old Testament history, New Testament, Ethics & Morality/Comparative Religions,
and Life Applications, the students are exposed to the promises of Jesus, and the
presence of the living Good News of Jesus Christ in their lives. The goal of our
theology curriculum is to encourage growth in Christ as students serve and lead
in their communities.
Vail Christian understands that students come to us with differing beliefs and backgrounds
and remains sensitive to those differences. Pastors from Christian churches throughout
the Vail Valley are invited and actively participate in weekly chapel services at
VCHS. We seek the support, involvement and input of the entire Christian community
and will always maintain a keen awareness of the various Christian traditions that
are brought to the school.

Vail Christian High School is a co-ed school of academic excellence which offers
a four year college-preparatory program. All students have classroom access to laptop
computers to prepare them for a future in an ever increasing technological world.
Working with the home, Vail Christian prides itself on being an exten-sion of every
family. Each student is considered unique and special. The small size of the school
and the low teacher to student ratio ensure consistent individual attention for
each student during these formative years.
"I can’t begin to thank you enough, VCHS, for preparing me for this col-lege (St. Mary’s at Notre Dame). It goes beyond academics. I am amazed at where I am and where I seem to be going."
- Megan McGee
Valedictorian, Class of 2002
"Now that I am in college, I look back and realize how incredibly blessed I was in attending VCHS. This is not an average place. You will not find another like it, because at VCHS, you are not another textbook, test to grade, or mind to fill; you are a fearfully and wonderfully made crea-tion with potential that you never even knew you had."
- Bradie Beagley
Attending Westmount College, Class of 2006
