From VCHS to the World of Orthopedic Trauma and Beyond
We often say that high school is where our journeys begin, where our passions ignite, and where friendships form that last a lifetime. For Emily Lich, a graduate of Vail Christian High School's Class of 2007, these sentiments couldn't ring truer. Emily's story is one of ambition, dedication, and a passion for science that has propelled her into a rewarding career in healthcare.
Emily's journey started at VCHS when the school had just moved from the trailers located at Gracious Savior Lutheran Church to its new campus. Reflecting on those formative years, Emily vividly recalls the excitement of being part of the first class to graduate from the newly built campus. It was here that her love for science first took root.
"Science was my thing," Emily fondly reminisces. "AP Biology with Ms. Mindy Larson and cat dissection was truly an experience that inspired me to learn more about human anatomy and medicine."
Emily pursued a career in the medical field with a passion. She earned her degree in Biology from the University of Colorado – Denver and went on to become a Physician Assistant after graduating from South College in Knoxville. Her dedication and thirst for knowledge shone through as she started her career, working in trauma and critical care at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
For the past few years, Emily has been making a significant impact in orthopedic trauma at Baylor Grapevine Hospital, where her expertise and compassion have undoubtedly touched the lives of countless patients.
As she looks back on her remarkable journey, Emily shares a piece of invaluable advice for current students at VCHS and beyond: "Kindness always matters along the way. You never know when it will come back to you."
But Emily's journey doesn't stop here. She has more exciting news to share. After her upcoming October wedding to the love of her life, Bart Cuomo, Emily will be relocating to Denver, Colorado. They plan to make Denver their new home, where Emily's kindness, passion for healthcare and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others will undoubtedly continue to shine. We eagerly anticipate the next chapter in Emily's journey and wish her and Bart all the happiness in the world as they begin this exciting new chapter in Denver.
Congratulations, Emily!
